Why Tyer Rotation is necessary?

Practicing tyer Rotation for trucks can practically help to reduce the operating costs by overcoming the irregular wear and tear of tyres. It also helps in minimizing different wears that follow. To ensure that the tyre’s tread is fully utilized, tyre rotation should be done. This results in more kilometers run of the tyre than usual.

Reduce Tyre Vibration

Sometimes, the steer tyre on the driver’s side on the main axle may undergo more wear that is half of the tyre more than the other half. This results in unbalance and causes vibration. When tyer rotation is done, this tyre vibration problem is effectively minimized.

How often should you rotate?

Well, you cannot really schedule the tyre rotation; however, you may consider the following takes as per the experts:

    • At least once during the life of the tread. (Bridgestone’s Guy Walenga)
    • At the halfway point of wear-out. (Yokohama’s Pat Keating)
    • Only when irregular wear appears. (Michelin’s Doug Jones)
    • Once at one-fourth of the total expected mileage, and if possible again at half to three-quarters total mileage. (Goodyear’s Tim Miller)
    • At every oil change or every other. (Giti Tyre USA’s William Estupinan)
